How Able2Travel Travel Insurance Began?

The idea for Able2Travel began over 15 years ago when one of our founders discovered that the insurance offered by her travel agent excluded claims related to her husband's heart condition.

Thankfully, nothing went wrong on that trip—but it raised a serious concern: many people travel abroad assuming they’re fully covered, unaware that claims related to pre-existing conditions are often excluded unless those conditions have been declared and accepted by the insurer in advance.

This misunderstanding can leave travellers exposed to enormous financial risk. Even relatively minor treatment abroad or the cost of medical repatriation can run into tens of thousands of pounds. Most travel insurers will not cover claims arising from undeclared or unapproved pre-existing medical conditions.
