Frequently Asked Questions about Travel Insurance Cover for Pre Existing Medical Conditions

1. What Does Pre-existing Medical Condition Mean for Holiday Insurance?

At Able2travel, we define “pre-existing medical condition” as any illness, disease, or injury, including any psychological conditions. These medical conditions can be something you have now or have had. This applies to you and anyone on your policy at the time you buy your holiday insurance or book your trip.

2. Can I Exclude a Pre-Existing Medical Condition from Holiday Insurance?

No — all existing or ongoing medical conditions must be declared when you get a quote. This makes sure we can offer you the right cover and that your policy stays valid.

By declaring all conditions, you can be confident your policy will be valid if you ever need to make a claim.

Similarly, any changes in health you may have while the policy is in force, you also would need to declare them.

  • cover emergency medical transport back to the UK (known as repatriation)
