Able2Travel Cruise Travel Insurance

Cruise Cover Option

Going on a cruise is an amazing way to see the world, calling in at a number of destinations on your journey, soaking up the atmosphere at each port of call.

Whilst Cruise holidays are covered as standard on Able2Travel, our standard policies do not provide cover for specific cruise related events. For example, whilst you would benefit from Trip Cancellation or Emergency Medical Cover for your Cruise, you would not receive cover if you were denied boarding or if your boat missed a port that was originally indicated on your itinerary.

That's where Able2Travel's Cruise Cover option comes in.

Our Cruise Cover option can provide cover for Missed Port of Call, Cabin Confinement, Low/High Water, Shore Excursions, and Denied Boarding, on top of your standard policy!

Purchasing our Optional Cruise Cover is well worth the small, extra premium on top of your Single Trip or Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance policy to ensure you have the enhanced cover for many additional unforeseen events that can impact your cruise!

  • a doctor on board your cruise ship has advised you not to go on the excursion because of your illness, injury, or a medical condition (including being diagnosed with an epidemic or pandemic disease such as COVID-19) during your trip; or
  • your cruise ship cannot make a scheduled stop at a port because of bad weather or other restrictions;

Denied Boarding – We will pay you the amount listed on your Cover Summary for meals, communication expenses and local transportation, if you are denied boarding the cruise ship that you are scheduled to travel on for your trip, based on a suspicion that you have a contagious medical condition.

Why take out Optional Cruise Travel Insurance Cover?

Cover for cruise holidays is included as standard on Able2Travel Travel Insurance policies, but there is no cover for additional, cruise related perils, such as Cabin Confinement.

For a small additional premium you can add cover specifically related to your cruise holidays to your standard policy. Able2Travel’s Cruise Cover option will offer protection for Missed Port, Cabin Confinement, Low/High water, Shore Excursions, and Denied Boarding.

Remember, a high quality and thorough Travel Insurance policy is vital if you have pre-existing medical conditions because medical treatment abroad, or from the ship’s doctor, can be expensive. Plus, if your require hospital treatment whilst on your cruise holiday, then based on many of the common cruise destinations, these costs can be far greater than you might think.
