Extended Carer Cover Option


If you require a carer to accompany you on your trip and you opt for the Gold or Platinum level of Able2Travel cover then you have cover under section 15 - Personal Carer, Chaperone or Nanny Replacement for them in case their trip has to be cut short due to illness so that you are not left out of pocket for the cost of a having a replacement carer travel to be at your side.


If you are a carer who provides daily support to a relative, friend or neighbour, Able2Travel Travel Insurance Extended Carer Cover provides extended cover for cancellation or curtailment in case a nominated Stand-In carer is unable to fulfil their duties due to illness (other than COVID-19 or other pandemic/epidemic) causing you to have to either cancel or curtail your trip in order to return home to provide care.


This section also covers the costs associated with ticket changes if you are able to rearrange the time you take the trip in order to avoid having to cancel it or the cost of transport of a replacement Stand-in carer back in your home country in order that you do not have to cancel or curtail your trip.


Please be aware however that this option is only available on single trip policies.

Extended Cancellation or Curtailment / Loss of Holiday Cover – if your Stand-in personal that was due to look after the person you care for on a daily basis back home is unable to fulfil their duty as a result of their death, injury or illness occurring during your trip and you need to cancel or curtail your trip in order to provide care.

Name change and administration charges - Your costs of related name or ticket administration changes, if You are able to change the names or dates on Your original booking so as to prevent You having to cancel the Trip

Transport of replacement carer charges – to provide economy transport costs of an emergency replacement Stand-in carer to travel to and attend to the Cared for person You usually care for, so as to prevent You having to cancel Your Trip or You needing to come home early.

Please Note. Remember to add Extended Carer Cover Option on the ‘Your Quote’ page when getting a quote to add it to your Able2Travel Travel Insurance policy. Please be aware however that this option is only available on single trip policies.
